Ooh... that sounds really interesting! Great idea to support fansubbers and such by interviewing them ^__^ Sure, I'd be honored to be included! You can send the questions to the email address on my profile. :D

sorry to bother, I've previously downloaded files with your translation. When I mention to a friend over the net about it, she said she wanted to start a sub group but due to the lack of Japanese translator, she wanted to see if she could use some of the English translation and then translate it into Chinese and sub them. She would do it with proper credit, no sharing it on streaming sites or any other request there might be.

Let me know if this is a possibility, since she's not a member of livejournal I have to ask for her.

also if it's okay for me for me to reupload some of the files to share with a few friends, they're not livejournal users so they can't access it themselves. If not it's okay, just want to ask permission before I do anything.

looking forward on hearing back from you. :)

Sure, that sounds good to me! I'm always in favor of spreading the dork love to as many people and languages as possible ^^ Good luck to your friend and her group with the new subs!

And yeah, I don't mind private re-uploading for friends as long as they know that no sharing is allowed and it won't go any further than their systems. Thanks for checking with me first ^_^

I just <3 you so much.
Thank you for your patience.
I get intimidated sometimes by the official forums, knowing I'll ask a dumb question, or in the wrong place -- but if I keep quiet I'm the pariah leecher.
I'm sure people give you a lot of trouble and frustration, so thank you for being so kind to us.
If you have a stalker-safe address like a PO box, I'd like to send you a present some time (I'm a procrastinator so it might not be asap.)
There's also a way to address things "general delivery" so the post office keeps it for you to pick up, so you don't have to give out your address.

Aww, thank you ♥ Honestly I have very, very rarely felt annoyed or frustrated with any member of this site/comm in the year and a half or so I've been running it... only one or two instances come to my mind, and I might be able to think of more if I dig a bit deeper. But overall this fandom has been amazing, so as I see it, I'm only repaying the kindness I've found here in my own humble little way. ^^

And, ahh... I'm terrible at accepting praise and gifts and stuff, so I always just say there's no need... but I do have a PO box address, so if you remind me later in a PM or something I'll send it to you there :D;;

Yo becky!! I moved from leaving you messages at taiji fansub to taiji project. Just wondering, if we have a midwest JE fan gathering, would you come??? I would love to meet you!!

I had BIG snow here today. bleah. I would opt for snow flurries anytime. and your job is so cool, i wish i could do something japanese related, but no, my only connection to japan is that my PHd supervisor is japanese, and he's very big, so once NHK came to do a documentary abt him, and I got screen time. YAY to that. :D

A fan gathering would be awesome! No idea if I would be able to make it though, since my brother recently destroyed my car so traveling is gonna be hard for a while T_T

I definitely had a few strokes of really good luck to end up with the "job" I have... too bad translating for indie bands doesn't exactly pay well. >.> I kinda wish it did... talk about a dream job, haha.

Yay for appearing on NHK! :D What kind of screen time did you get?

hi there, i just wondered.
i want to request a song (translation) and don't know where to put it so i hope here is fine? (i know where to drop fansub-request but not the actual songs...)

anyway. do you know matsujun no uta? there is a video of this, it was the 'how is it going' tour where they celebrated matsujuns 20th birthday with a song nino had written. what i never knew: the song they showed in the video wasn't the complete one. so recently i found the mp3 with the complete song (recorded by a fan) and wondered if you could try to translate this? 'cause it seemed funny.
the version is not the best... but i dare to request anyway. (will give you the link if you're willing to do this)

onegai shimasu?

Ahh, sorry I didn't get to this sooner! x_x Crazy holiday week and overstuffed inboxes...

I've actually been interested in hearing the full version of Matsujun's birthday song for a while, since I saw at the end of the video when he holds up the open CD, the extra lyrics are written on the sleeve... but it was too blurry for me to read. I never imagined the full version would actually be available anywhere o_o So yeah, I would love to have that link and hopefully it will finally help me finish the full translation!

Fanvid Permission
Hi- thanks for all the great work you've been doing- you videos have saved me from boredom a great many times :-)

Just a quick question- I've made a short fanvid (1.5mins long) using snippets of some of your works (Dno, Gno, and a couple of others).
Would it be ok to put the video on YouTube and LJ?
I have a "all credit to original uploaders" phrase in the credits.

Thank You

Hello! Thank you so much for the great work, esp the D and G no Arashi subs!

Em, I have a request though, I saw that you've subbed a couple of Oguri Shun vids, so I was just wondering if you'd consider doing his appearance on Kuwazugirai? I got the link to it here :http://christwong1060.livejournal.com/2081.html?view=18209#t18209

It seemed like a really funny vid, Kuwazugirai eps usually are. I hope you enjoy it too! :)

we're just new to the fansubbing world
Hi!, you don't know me, but we always visit your site for Arashi updates :D
We are in a middle of a fassubbing project and we have one tiny question??

"How do you attach your image to your work? i mean your logo"

we're also using your software, Aegisub and we've been trying to attach our logo to our works but to no avail.

thanks in advance :)

Re: we're just new to the fansubbing world
I attach my logo in the encoding stage with VirtualDub. The logo image should be in TGA format, and you can encode it into the video by opening the Filters menu and selecting Logo. In the window that pops up, there's a box that says Logo Image and one that says Alpha Image, with 3 checkboxes between them; make sure to select the same file for both the Logo and Alpha images, and check all 3 of the boxes. Then you just adjust the position, opacity, etc. as you like it, and voila - logo! ^^

I'd like to request a song, if that's okay.(^^; The lyrics for it are in this post--it's dollis marry's "Daddy came". I'd be really thankful if you could translate it, but I also understand if you don't have time for it or simply don't want to.(^^

Hi!
I've told you before, but I'll tell you again: Thank you so so much for all your hardwork! I always look forward to your releases ^__^

I have a small request. I was wondering if you could translate Kibou no Uta by Funky Monkey Babys? I really love this song but I haven't been able to find an English translation. The lyrics if you need them are here: http://www.onlylyrics.com/hits.php?grid=16&id=1026973

Thanks! <3

Oh! And I'm a part of the new subbing group enoarashi...I really like the way you sub things. I was wondering though, how do you split the colors when more than one person is talking? It seems like a really useful thing to know XD

Color splitting is definitely a handy skill - I use it kinda obsessively now XD And I use the "clip" tool, which is easiest to get started with in Aegisub. It's one of those little square icons to the left of the video preview. First the line you want to split should be duplicated; one line will be color A, the other will be color B. Then just use the clip tool to select a rectangle that splits one of those two lines in half (or both of them, either way works), and when you preview it, the two lines should layer together in split colors. Once you get used to it, you can manually enter the clip codes in Sabbu or whatever other tool you use to typeset. ^^

And sure, I'll take a look at Kibou no Uta when I get a chance too!

Hi ^.^
Firstly, I wanted to thank you for all your hardwork. I've probably said it a million times but you deserve it.

I wasn't sure where to ask, but I was wondering if it was okay with you to take a snippet of DnA 56 and possibly upload it onto youtube. It's the part where Aiba elbows Ohno which is not very long. I really want to include this for a project of mine about Aiba's sillyness.

I'll definitely credit you, and if it's a big problem, I can take it down after my project is marked.

Just let me know what you think.
Thanks in advance!
taijiproject
Mar. 18th, 2009 05:56 am (UTC)
Hmm, would it be possible to upload it as a private video so it can only be seen from your account? Or would you need to keep it public for your project? Either way... yeah, I don't have a problem with that if it's taken down after the project is done. ^^ And maybe try to give it an obscure title or something so it'll be hard to search XD

At any rate, thanks for checking with me first! ^_^
