I never thought this time would come... but alas, I underestimated the power of subbing. :o If you're here for the fansubs, PLEASE READ (and I apologize in advance for the insane length)!
As of Friday, August 1, Taiji Project fansubs are no longer hosted at this journal. Instead they will be released at Taiji Project's new community,
taijiprojectsub.
WHY?
Because if the trends continue, within a matter of days the Taiji Project friends list will reach 2000 - the maximum for a paid user account. Which means, if I keep the fansubs restricted to this journal, within a week I will no longer be able to allow any newcomers to view my fansubs. But with a community, there are no such limitations, and I can continue to share the goods with more and more people.
WHAT THIS MEANS FOR TAIJI PROJECT
In a nutshell, I am moving ONLY THE FANSUBS to the new community. All song lyrics, poems, written media, and basically any other translation that's not a video will continue to be hosted here at
taijiproject. I won't be taking down the previously released fansub posts in the fansub filter here, but I won't be adding any new ones.
Also, as most of you guys know pretty well by now... I have that habit of releasing my fansubs with weird post dates to avoid cross-posts with my announcements in
onlyarashifiles. However, since it's not possible to post privately or backdate entries in a community, from now on new fansubs will be released AND dated on their actual release dates. Which means 1) if you friend the community, releases will finally show up as new posts on your friends page, and 2) I will probably stop announcing new releases at
onlyarashifiles for the sake of preventing cross-posts. I'm still thinking about this part though (and feedback would be MOST welcome!).
HOW TO JOIN THE NEW COMMUNITY
Membership at
taijiprojectsub will be moderated, just like it always has been here, but sort of different. Here's a breakdown:
~1~ Anyone who was in the original Taiji Project fansub filter can just join the new community as you would join any other. I'll approve your add request as soon as I get it. You guys don't need to leave comments because you already did that when you first joined up here, so you've earned my trust. ^_^ I've tried to speed up the process by sending out invitations to some old members; check here to see if you got one!
~2~ Anyone who was NOT in the original Taiji Project fansub filter will still need to leave a comment on the new Fansub Access Post promising to follow the rules outlined there. Everyone who does this will be invited (or approved) to join the community, and the subs are yours!
IN CONCLUSION
I'm so sorry for any inconvenience this switch may cause, especially to new members who just joined here... but add requests have increased massively in recent weeks, so this really managed to sneak up on me. Honestly, I never thought Taiji Project would even reach that magic number of 2000 friends. When I first started fansubbing, even
onlyarashifiles didn't have that many members. o__o Which is great for the fandom(s) my fansubs represent, of course, because growth is good - thus
taijiprojectsub was born in order to keep that growth possible!
So in closing, I wholeheartedly thank each and every one of you for making Taiji Project such a huge success, for all your kind words and constant encouragement throughout the past year of my fansub releasing, and for being such an amazingly understanding and considerate group of people who respect the time and effort fansubbing takes (and the major suckage of being sued >.>) enough to lovingly uphold the no-sharing rule. You're all amazing and you're all amazing and you're all amazing and I can't repeat that enough times. You're all amazing. Thank you. ♥
See y'all on the other side!

I'm totally happy you keep up the great work~<33
Thank you for all your hard work, always!
^__^
I'm not sure it's directly related to this post, or constructive in any way, but that's all I could think of while reading it.
So, for the new community... kampai! =D
I hope not being able to post privately on a community won't bother you, though, knowing that's how you usually do, if I'm not mistaken.
i can't believe it either, wow!
arashi's fan is becoming bigger and bigger and of course your friends list is becoming bigger too. after all we are from around the world.
i've just realized that while you're working on the community, you still have time to sub too. you must have been really tired but i bet it's fun too because you do what you like and as well it's arashi.
anyway, don't get to tired, remember to rest too!
thank you!!
This fandom wouldn't be half as good without you.
i think you should still post in

I'll definitely be adding the new community, though I'll also keep this journal on my friendlist (if that's OK), because I enjoy your song-translations too. ^-^

Please continue doing what you do best and thanks so much for the hard work!
